HeartGuard was set up in 1978 by Professor Douglas Chamberlain, the then Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
The Heartguard Community Resuscitation Scheme now covers all of Sussex.
Heartguard was the first community resuscitation training scheme in the country.

We run in the region of 35-40 courses each month, and over the past few years trained an average 5000 students a year.
